Emily Donald, Staff Writer

This is Miss Doubet’s first year teaching at CB West! Miss Doubet teaches various art classes, including drawing and painting and intro to ceramics. Her room is room D135–be sure to go say hello and make her feel welcome here at West!

Q: Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Warrington, Pa, I went through Central Bucks schools throughout my childhood. I went to Barkley Elementary, Tamened Middle school, and then CB South.

Q: What made you want to teach in Bucks County?

I liked going through CB schools, I thought it was a very good school district. I also liked being back in my hometown.

Q: Where did you go to college?

I went to Millersville University in Lancaster, Pa.

Q: What are your favorite out-of-school activities?

Besides art, my favorite activities are being outdoors, traveling, and trying new things. I also like to dance; I was part of the dance club in college.

Q: This is your first year at West–what are your favorite things about teaching, how about some things that surprised you?

My favorite things about teaching are getting to know so many different personalities and forming a welcoming community in my own classroom. Some things that surprised me were how helpful everyone has been! Other staff members have been very welcoming, kind, and willing to help.

Q: What is your favorite art course to teach? Why?

Drawing and painting, because I tend to do 2D art the most in my own free time!

Q: If you could sit down with any artist, who would it be and why?

Claude Monet, because I really like the impressionist style of his work, the colors that he used and the ideas of painting the same area at different times of day.

Q: Any advice for someone who wants to pursue teaching?

Ask as many questions as you can and get as much advice as possible because going through college, they don’t teach you everything–so sometimes you have to ask for advice when you need it.
