Ready to dive back into the abnormal story of Hawkins India? The last season of Stranger Things, season 5, is set to release its first episode on Thanksgiving this year. This science fiction horror series, directed by the Duffer Brothers, is one of the highest grossing series in Netflix history. The last season consists of 8 episodes and is going to be released in three parts: Volume 1 on Thanksgiving, Volume 2 on Christmas Day, and the finale on New Year’s Eve.
Main actors like Noah Schnapp, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, and many others are all returning for the final season. They are being joined by new cast members Nell Fisher, Jack Connelly, Alex Breaux, and Linda Hamilton.
The last time we saw Hawkins, the final gate to the upside down had opened and destruction started to spread across the town. A strange looking storm consumes the sky, and the group unites, looking ahead, about to prepare for the biggest battle yet. The fifth season will capture the events following the cliffhanger before it as the group seeks to find and kill Vecna once and for all.
After the Los Angeles premiere on November 6th, the first 5 minutes of the new season were unveiled. The short clip features young Will in the Upside Down during his original disappearance. As he is being hunted down and chased by a Demogorgon, he almost manages to escape, but he falls from a tree and is dragged into Vecna’s possession by another Demogorgon. It seems that we are finally going to get the answer to the question that has been circling the franchise since the beginning: What really happened to Will Byers in the Upside Down?
