Mr. Paglione has been teaching various math courses here at West for 11 years but was given the opportunity to be an education technology analyst for Central Bucks last year.
Mr. Pags has been teaching math for a total of 16 years. He explains that he has always enjoyed the problem solving of math, as well as helping people with it. This is also what he loves about teaching students math- being able to help them. Mr. Pags has taught an abundance of courses: AP Calc AB and BC, Comp Sci Principles, AP Statistics, Pre-Calc, Algebra 1, Algebra 1B, Geometry, Pre-Algebra, and even Calc 3. Out of all these courses, his favorites are tied between AP Stat, AP Calc, and AP Comp Sci Principles. He finds them all difficult- in a good way- and exciting in their own unique ways. Mr. Pags has had the opportunity to teach both middle and high school students, but he says he definitely prefers teaching high schoolers over middle schoolers.
As an education tech analyst for the district last year, Mr. Pags was motivated to take this job as it was “an opportunity to use analytical thinking skills in a different environment that was also helpful to teachers and students”. During the past year, he was in charge of Central Bucks’ classlink, canvas, Microsoft integrations, and its internet filter. He enjoyed being able to work with principals and teachers in other buildings, as well as participating in larger district wide initiatives as a tech analyst.
Ultimately, Mr. Pags had the opportunity to come back to West this year. While he enjoyed his new job, he decided to take this opportunity, as he realized how much he missed working with students in a classroom environment, and overall day to day teaching. We are grateful for his work behind the scenes last year, but we are glad to have him back at West!
Mr. Pags says that despite his new experiences at the other schools, he is “happy to be home back at West. West is best!”.
