Get ready to mark your calendars! This December, the Central Bucks West Harlequin Club, under the guidance of new director Claudine Piechotta, will perform an adaptation of A Christmas Carol. With show dates scheduled for December 15th through the 17th, the production marks the beginning of Piechotta’s new direction for the club.
A Christmas Carol, a timeless tale, follows Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly businessman who is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and future. Through a story that explores the deeper causes of his cold-heartedness, Scrooge is given a chance at redemption and transformation. This classic tale, rich with themes of second chances and the joy of human kindness, is a staple of the holiday season.
In this original adaptation, the Harlequin Club takes audiences on a journey with iconic characters such as the ever-hopeful Bob Cratchit, his son Tiny Tim, the wandering spirit of Jacob Marley, and Scrooge’s cheerful nephew Fred. Enhanced by a Greek chorus, narration, and diverse dance styles, the show promises a one-of-a-kind experience. The unique score, under the guidance of choir director Abigail Marchione, features a selection combining classical and contemporary music which brings the characters to life.
As CB West welcomes Piechotta to her new role, she extends an invitation to the community to enjoy this wonderful and fun holiday show. She shared her thoughts on the play’s relevance, especially during the holiday season. “It’s a time when many focus on materialistic aspects. My adaptation reminds audiences of the true spirit of the holidays – love, compassion, and giving.”
Join Central Bucks West High School in welcoming the holiday spirit with a story of redemption, reminding us that it’s never too late to change and that the greatest joy comes from being with loved ones and helping those in need. In alignment with the message of A Christmas Carol, a portion of the proceeds will benefit Tabor Children’s Home, Code Blue, and the Ann Silverman Health Clinic.
