Girls Track Recap
By: Madison DeMeester
The girls track team has had a strong start to the season with some notable accomplishments. The first meet against North Penn had many highlights: the 4×8 opened the season with a win, (sophomore) Laney Hall took the top spot in the 100m, (junior) Sofia Pocai fought her way to a win in the 1600m, Araceli Eason took number one in the 100m hurdles, (senior) Katie Grill won the 3200m, and finally (sophomore) Maddie Fuhrmeister continues to improve by taking the win in pole vault while also hitting the district standard. The team then had some hard competition, going up against Central Bucks East. The 4×1 took first place and was only .55 seconds away from hitting district standard. Araceli Easton continued to prove herself in the 100m hurdles and took the top spot once again. Laney Hall had an impressive PR in high jump and won. (Senior) Ella Denicore jumped a season best in long jump while also securing the win. Once again Maddie Fuhrmeister hit the district standard, solidifying her spot in the district meet in May, and of course she took the top spot against East. The girls then went to Upper Dublin for their first invitational of the season. The 4×8 ran a hard race coming in second, but still managed to break the meet record, becoming the 39th best time in the country. And it was no surprise that Maddie Fuhrmeister took the top spot in pole vault once again. The team still has a long season ahead of them, but they continue to show their strength day in and day out!
